Milena’s Story

I was born and raised in Vancouver Canada, and I’m half Czech and half Costa Rican. I’m so blessed to have come from 2 of the most beautiful countries in the world.  They are both very small and very different, but so wonderful in so many ways.  I love the history, art work and sculptures that Prague has to offer.  My uncle Pavel Roucka is a famous painter, whom people  from all over the world come to buy his work.  My father took me to Prague numerous times as I was little and visited every castle and church in the beautiful city.  My father knew the history and story of each and every structure in Prague, and it left me so intrigued.  That is where my passion for art, drama and music stems from.  Not only do I love Dance and Electronica, but I also absolutely love Mozart too. Costa Rica is full of mountains, volcanoes and amazing beaches.  I love the outdoors and I remember being so afraid of volcanoes erupting when I was a small child.  I remember experiencing my first earthquake there, and I laughed my head off at the fact that everyone was scared of the earth shaking. At the time I thought it was ridiculous, but now I think a lot differently.

I was fearless growing up.  I hated wearing dresses and playing with dolls, I would have much rather played soccer with my next door neighbors who were all boys, and  I would come home with scratches and scrapes.  My parents were so upset with me, but playing with dolls just seemed silly to me.  However, although my father would buy me GI Joes and Transformers for Christmas, I must admit I did love My Little Pony! Growing up I have always loved animals, my dream was for my father to one day buy me a horse, but since we lived in the heart of downtown Vancouver it was an impossible dream. But to make up for it, every summer my father would take me to Abbotsford, BC, about an hour outside of the city, and I would spend weeks at a summer camp. There, I had a white horse named Hogan.  We weren’t allowed to run the horses, but Hogan and I wouldn’t obey the rules, we would escape and take off to the hills! There’s nothing like the feeling of racing through the country side with the wind blowing in your hair on the back of a white horse.

As a kid at home relaxing with my father, he would watch the news. Whenever there was a commercial on he would flip through the channels and come across Wrestling.  That’s where I discovered Hulk Hogan. I would stand on a chair at my parents’ dinner parties and do the Hulkamania Flexes.  I was always the star of my parents’ dinner parties, I would dance, sing and imitate British actors from Faulty Towers.  I always knew in my heart that I would be an entertainer, whether on film or theater or TV. Whenever my mother would make an amazing meal, I would pretend I was in a commercial telling my mom how delicious it was. When asked at school, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”,  I would tell my teacher that I’m going to be a Superstar!  All the other kids would laugh at me and my teacher even suggested I should pick a different career.  I wonder if that teacher has seen me on Raw or Smackdown now?

As a teenager I fell in love with fitness, every single month I would purchase a copy of Oxygen magazine and soon fell in love with fitness and nutrition.  It was then that I first saw and learned about Trish Stratus and Tori Wilson.  They were and still are the most beautiful women on earth.  I began going to the gym and worked as hard as I could, but for the life of me could not grow muscle on my long lean frame.  I drank protein powder and did everything I could,  I wanted to look like the Divas I saw on Raw and Smackdown.  I never stopped trying, up until I started modeling and I was told to stop tanning and to stop lifting weights.  I loved modeling, but only the artistic aspect of it.  If you look closely at my photos you will notice that I never have a blank stare, trying too hard to look good for the photo makes it lifeless.  Its a form of acting, remembering a place that I was either happy, sad, angry, or in love.  My passion for acting made modeling so much fun for me and my career started to flourish because I had become great at it.  Soon I found myself traveling all over the world!  In one week alone I was in Jamaica, Mexico, LA and Las Vegas.  I was very successful, but after a couple of years I found myself wanting more.  I was unhappy and wanted to do something more challenging, so on my spare time I took up Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai.  I trained for 5 hours a day on my days off from modeling.  I fell in love with it and had the desire to have a K-1 match.  Upon hearing this, my modeling bookers were horrified to say the least.

When I was given the chance to have a contract with the WWE, my heart raced. It pounded in excitement at the thought of becoming a WWE Diva!  I remember the day I got the call like it was yesterday.  It was one of the most happiest days of my life.  That’s why I tell children when I meet them, they can do whatever they want to do in life, as long as you believe in yourself, stay on the right path, and work hard. There will always be obstacles and challenges on the way, there will always be someone getting an opportunity you wish you could have, but you shouldn’t ever be jealous.  Keep working on you and bettering yourself, helping others and be happy for the ones that get those opportunities, because your time will come.  I have so many more goals I would love to achieve, I loved meeting the troops and their families, I would love to do more humanitarian work and luckily WWE works with so many wonderful organizations that will be able to give me these opportunities. I would love to work in film as well, and my mission to help people with their health is just beginning! #Musclemania is a huge project for me.  There are so many people out there that want to be healthy and live a healthy lifestyle but they don’t know how to begin.  That’s why I have started my YouTube channel, and using Tout to show my recipes.  I have gained 4 pounds of muscle in 2 and a half months.  If I can do it anyone can do it.  I’m happier and healthier, everyone deserves to feel good and my mission is to help people feel the same.  The sky is the limit for me and I can’t wait to see what the next few months, and years bring me.
